Get ready to go

Before you hit the road, don’t forget to download the Go Ahead app. Along with keeping track of your tour details, you’ll be able to share your countdown, check out who’s in your group, and even chat with your fellow travelers right from the app.

Make flying fun

Coloring books are a perfect way for kids and adults alike to pass the time, but packing all your art supplies can be a pain. Cue Colorfy—it’ll turn your tablet into a veritable easel, and makes your masterpieces easy to share on social media.

On the decidedly grown-up end of the spectrum, there’s the Carry-on Cocktail Kit. Each kit features all the fixins you need to mix up your favorite drinks—from old fashioneds to champagne cocktails to margaritas (their newest!)—mid-flight.

Up your photography game

Think you can’t take amazing photos with just a phone in hand? Go Ahead traveler and photographer Michael begs to differ. He shared some of his “iPhoneography” tips (as well as his incredible photos) on our blog, and recommended a few user-friendly editing apps. One of his favorites, Snapseed, is simple to use and can really help take your travel photos to the next level.

Once you’re home, you can turn your photos into frame-able prints with Artifact Uprising. It’s one of our favorites for print quality and range; you can get everything from 3×5’s to poster-sized prints to books.

Record your favorite moments

Create a scrapbook or travel journal for your summer trip—it’s a great way to look back on your journey and relive your favorite moments. For a little inspiration, try a themed journal to spark your creativity. If you’re more of a free spirit, Field Notes should fit the bill, and the tiny notebooks will fit right in your pocket.

Don’t forget about including mementos like museum passes, plane tickets, and postcards. Add them in with Washi tape or stickers to bring a pop of color, and fun, to the pages of your journal.

Say “yes” to natural SPFs

Sunscreen is a summer must, even if your trip isn’t taking you to the beach. If you’re getting in the water—especially if you’re on tour visiting the Great Barrier Reef or other delicate ecosystems—consider a natural sunscreen that won’t harm the corals.
